Today I decided that our environment needs to be cleaned up and PST files that are a major headache are the first things that need to be looked at.
To start off with, MS say that Office 2010 Standard does not support Personal Archives, however I enabled it on my account and it shows, however on a colleagues machine it doesn’t.
So as a work around all I did was give the user full access to there mailbox using the EMC and there you go, that user is able to view his personal archive.
So is this just a permission thing that they don’t tell you about or do you still need to fork out all the money for a Professional Plus Office 2010 License?
Hope it helps.
I have noticed that since trying this, the error “not implmented” now appears sporaidically. is this what you experienced as well?
Hi
No i have not experienced that error at all.
FYI, this can cause issues for users where they no longer receive reminders, their Task Bar is empty (with error “An object could not be found”) and sometimes their Archive shows a duplicate copy, which causes Windows Desktop Search to do more indexing.

I have only confirmed the above with Outlook 2007. Even though the KB says Outlook 2010, I have only been able to recreate the issue (and have only had reports from users) with 2007.
Doesn’t seem to work anymore with exchange 2010 sp3
